After 25 years of experience working in senior leadership positions in IT, I have learnt that the combination of the right people and the right culture is the biggest precursor of success for a company.   

When hiring, focussing on values and cultural fit first and capability second is paramount, and I believe that we should only ever hire people who are aligned to our company vision and values. Some people use words like culture and values as platitudes, however, after a couple of decades of growing businesses in very competitive environments, I know that culture and values, when they are truly lived, are the backbone of all great companies. 

As someone with a strong work ethic, I also subscribe to the notion that consistent, ongoing organizational discipline and continuous improvement is paramount and as such, I hold everyone, including myself, to a high standard. I am an energetic, passionate and results-driven chief executive who excels in creating engaged workplace cultures, building high performing teams and in turn, high performing businesses. I can tell you unequivocally that success over the many years, which has been hard-earned, has not been driven by any one single individual but by the contribution of an entire team of like-minded people with a common goal.

I pride myself on my ability to provide a clear vision and to set attainable objectives, which deliver tangible outcomes to customers, employees, and shareholders. I’ve always been deeply passionate about keeping the customer at the centre of the business and I maintain that leaders should always empower within reason, the decision-making process to those who are the closest to the customer. This creates conditions for a company to substantially grow by focussing on the things that truly matter, without the encumbrances of too many management layers or control mechanisms.  

People who know me well would say I am very focused and serious about my business, but also see the fun side of me, the side that enjoys great food and the company of good friends, entertaining, each telling tall stories, having a few laughs, and simply not taking ourselves too seriously.
